Featured Recipe: Canadian Sachlav (Gluten Free, Vegan)
A Canadian adaptation of the Israeli classic dessert drink, this sachlav is a thick and satisfying drink, slightly reminiscent of pudding.
Ingredients
Sachlav
- 3 Cups "Almond Breeze" Almond Milk (Unsweetened, Vanilla)
- 6 tbsp Tapioca Starch
- 6 tbsp "Almond Breeze" Almond Milk (Unsweetened, Vanilla)
- 6 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 0.125 tsp “Flavorganics” Orange Extract
- 1 Pinch Nutmeg
Suggested Toppings
- Unsalted Organic Pistachios (Whole)
- Roasted Almonds (Chopped)
- Shaved Coconut (Unsweetened)
- Golden Raisins
- Cinnamon
Instructions
- Bring everything to a boil but tapioca starch and 6 tbsp of almond milk.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the tapioca starch and almond milk and whisk into the simmering sachlav.
- Cook for another few minutes, pour into serving cups and top with suggested toppings of choice.
