When It Comes to Healthy Lunches + Snacks, Home-Packed is Best!
When it comes to raising healthy, happy kids, lunch money spent on cafeteria meals and vending machine snacks are not money well spent!
The reason? Lunches and snacks provided by schools are often filled with sugars, low quality fats and preservatives. All of these ingredients set your child up for poor performance on an afternoon quiz and low energy for upcoming activities. They can also contribute to the development of poor and picky eating habits.
There’s really no way around it: a packed healthy lunch is essential for those who would like to succeed.
By ensuring that your child heads back to school with lunches that are based on whole grains, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, quality meats, fish, legumes and seeds, as well as focusing on natural sweeteners such as pure maple syrup, unpasteurized honey and coconut sugar in place of cane sugar or refined sugar, you’ll set your child up for success when the bell rings to welcome them back!
Here is a list of healthy, wholesome back-to-school lunch and snack ideas for your kids to enjoy this school year!
